Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service organised a community safety event in Royston on Thursday for older people who live in and around the town.
In total, 40 went along to the town hall to listen to a range of safety and information messages about help and support available in the community.
Partner agencies who attended included Age UK, Herts County Council Resilience and Trading Standards teams, The Samaritans, The Lions Club, the police, Herts Careline, Crossroads Care, North Herts District Council, and Herts Independent Living – who donated a lovely hot lunch.
Julie Springett, watch commander for HFRS, said: “These events are so rewarding, the feedback from the older people is always so positive and they often have no idea how much help and support is available for them.”
If you missed this event and would like to attend there is another taking place in Baldock on October 10. For more details call Julie on 07887 760507.
