Scenic beauty is not a factor in deciding on the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Village of the Year so don't be put off entering if your village is not traditionally 'beautiful'. It is community spirit and achievement that matters so please take this opportunity to bring your community together and tell us about your vibrant, enterprising and caring village.

The prize is £1,000 for the winning community to spend as is wishes.

The judges will be looking for community-led ventures that have made the best of local opportunities to maintain and enhance the quality of life in five different categories:

- Children and Young People in the Community

- Older People in the Community

- Environment and the Community

- Sport in the Community

- Community Building of the Year.

These awards are open to groups which have been actively working to improve life in your community. Winners will benefit from cash awards between £200 and £500.
