Hundreds of laminated eggs were hidden in and around St Mary’s churchyard for younger hunters to find, with cryptic Easter-themed clues for older children.

Successful hunters were rewarded with an Easter egg on arrival at Therfield First School, where refreshments and a children’s raffle were waiting.

The community event was organised by the Friends of Therfield School, with parents donating raffle prizes and cakes. Tesco gave many of the chocolate eggs.

School head Tara McGovern said: “This is another example of our amazing community coming together to put on a fun, good-feel event.

“All participants had a magical time whilst much appreciated funds were raised for future school projects.”

The hunt and events afterwards raised a tidy sum for the school, which is still being totted up.
