The detective investigating the theft of two eight-week-old puppies in Croydon has said the owner is shaken and upset after thieves broke into her home and took the young pair.

Officers are appealing for information after the burglary where thieves entered a property in High Street between 11am and 1pm on Tuesday last week.

They ransacked the house before making off with the cockapoos, a male and a female, along with jewellery and sentimental family items.

Det Con Ian Butcher said: “The victim has been left very shaken by this incident, knowing her home has been entered and her belongings stolen.

“Having the puppies stolen is particularly upsetting for the owner as they are very young and need caring for.

“I would urge anyone who may have been offered the puppies for sale, or who knows of their whereabouts, to contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 .”
