ANDREW Dobie is to visit every one of the UK's cities to raise money for charity - on his bike.

Along with his friend Ben Gaines, the 28-year-old will leave Truro in Cornwall on July 24 and 35 days later will pull up in St Albans having visited 66 cities in Britain.

The care worker for Mears in Royston said: “I have been doing lots of training, including cycling from my home in Cambridge to Royston everyday, so I feel ready and am looking forward to it,” he said.

“I ran from London to Edinburgh in 2009 so I sort of know what to expect, but Ben is less experienced so it could be a shock for him.”

The pair have a target of £10,000, which will be donated the UponDowns Down’s syndrome charity, and the Stroke Assocation, two causes close to Andrew’s heart.

He said: “I got my sporting side from my granddad and he suffered a few strokes before he died in 2006.

“Our friend has just had a baby which unfortunately has Down’s syndrome, so he are hoping to benefit them as well.”
