CHRISHILL'S annual Christmas market raised £450 with an international charity receiving some of the proceeds for the first time.
This year, medical charities were chosen, with one third of the money raised going to Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).
Jim Fookes, for the market organisers, said: "We have given donations to a considerable number of local charities in the five years of the market's life so we decided to give to an international charity.
"The doctors and nurses of MSF, the medical relief agency, are doing vital and brilliant work in the world's most dangerous spots, Darfur, Somalia, Chechnya and Sierra Leone."
The other charities to receive cheques for £150 were the Teddy Charity, which helps sick children being nursed at home, and Addenbrooke's Hospital Children's Services Trust.
Since beginning in 2002, the market has donated almost £5,000 to charity.
