STAFF and pupils dressed too cool for school last week and helped raise money for a number of children's genetic charities.
Roysia Middle School in Royston held its annual Jeans for Genes Day and raised £210 for ten charities, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, SPARKS and Well Child.
Everyone involved donated £1, money which will help fund vital genetic research and help alleviate and cure childhood genetic disorders.
The Jeans for Genes Day campaign is designed to raise awareness of genetic disorders and to date, has raised more than £24 million to support research projects and provide valuable support services for affected children and their families.
Elaine Stamford of Roysia Middle School said: "Everyone loved getting dressed up in their denims, and by wearing a pair of jeans for the day they will be helping change the lives of children with genetic disorders.
