A Royston school celebrated the opening of a new running track while raising money for Sport Relief on Friday.
Icknield Walk First School’s brand new track was officially opened by Royston Tesco community champion and 2012 Olympic torch bearer Mandy Jinkerson, who cut the ribbon before each child took part in a run on the new track in aid of Sport Relief.
Headteacher Jane Sherwood told the Crow: “During the day everyone had a chance to run their mile in aid of Sport Relief.
“We asked them all to bring in £1, so we raised around £300.
