Chief constable checks in to Royston and Barkway after hike in reports of speeding

The chief constable of Herts police visited Royston and the surrounding villages on Monday, to check up on how the local force is tackling increased reports of speeding in the area.
Chief constable Andy Bliss was the talk of the town when he patrolled Royston and Barley on foot along with Safer Neighbourhood Team Sgt Guy Westwood and Royston Rural PC Mike Hardiman.
He said: “I was delighted to join my officers on patrol on Monday to see the positive work they are doing, and to meet local people.”
Sgt Westwood said: “In the past few months we have received increased reports regarding speeding in Royston and the nearby villages.
“We were very pleased to welcome the chief constable to show him how we are tackling speeding.”
