A CRACKING chemistry student from the Meridian School has won top marks in a competition.
Five A-level Chemistry students recently competed in the Royal Society of Chemistry International Chemistry Olympiad.
A spokesman for the school said: "The students sat a two-hour advanced chemistry paper which extends the chemistry they learn on the course to new and challenging contexts."
Peter Davies received a Gold Certificate and a prize for his results, which place him in the top 10 per cent of chemistry students nationally who entered the competition.
