A chemical explosion at a factory caused road closures last night (Wednesday).
Emergency services were called to Johnson Matthey PLC in Orchard Road, Royston, at 6.45pm after a chemical spillage.
The explosion did not cause a fire so six fire crews worked with staff from the site to ensure there was no contamination from the spillage.
No one was injured in the incident but police closed Orchard Road at the junction with South Close, and York Way with the junction with Beverley Close as a precaution.
The site was incident was declared over and roads were reopened at 9.20pm.
