More than 400 runners turned out to race 10 miles in Bassingbourn to back Tom’s Trust, a charity which supports children with brain tumours.

The run was organised by Fit4Challenge, and raised more than £600 to donate to the charity.

Runners included Guinness World Record holders – a pair of twin boys aged one, who were the first ever to complete a half marathon in a buggy.

Deborah Whiteley set up Tom’s Trust in memory of her nine year-old son Tom, who lost his battle with cancer just seven months after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

She said: ‘’We are extremely proud to be supported by Fit4Challenge, who have supported us in previous events too.

“The money raised will fund clinical psychologists supporting children with brain tumours at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, changing their outcomes and lives as well as supporting the child and their family from the point of diagnosis.”
