A CHARITY unveiled it’s rebranded shop this week, and pledged to continue helping elderly folk in Crow Country.

Help the Aged and Age Concern have merged to form Age UK, and the new charity has rebranded it’s store in Church Lane, Royston.

Crow editor Darren Isted joined Age UK Hertfordshire’s chief executive Marion Birch for the opening ceremony, while town crier Graham Pfaff was on hand to draw customers into the store. Volunteers at the shop also got busy, baking home-made cakes and auctioning off a luxury hamper.

Darren said: “We at the Crow share a lot in common with Age UK, in that we both play an important role in the community. It is a pleasure to be part of this re-opening ceremony, and we look forward to hearing much more about Age UK’s work in the future.”

Marion added: “Our shop raises money for older people, but the shopping experience is for everyone, with high quality clothes, books, and household goods to suit people of all ages and tastes. Also, we are always on the look out for more volunteers to supplement our dedicated team in Royston.”

The Royston shop is one of 16 which have been rebranded across Hertfordshire.
