WAR heroes will be hoping to meet members of the public and share their battleground experiences next weekend.

Duxford’s Imperial War Museum is giving people the chance to meet and chat with veterans, all with very different backgrounds and experiences, who have served in a range of conflicts. They cover a wide range of ages. Some will have served in the Second World War, the Malayan Conflict or the Korean War while others have served in contemporary conflicts across the globe, including Northern Ireland, the Falklands War, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Veterans in attendance over the four days range from members of the Royal Air Force, Army and Royal Navy to National Service conscripts and civilians who experienced the Second World War Home Front as children, playing on the wartime bomb sites and enduring air raids, rationing and evacuation.

The event will take place on August 11, 13, 14 and 15 from 11am-1pm. For more information visit www.imw.org.uk
