MEMBERS of the Melbourn and Meldreth branch of the Royal British Legion had a good reason to celebrate in style.

The women's division enjoyed dinner at the Cambridge Motel near Shepreth to mark its 70th anniversary.

Vice chairman and organiser of the event, Christine Linsdell, said: "Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The anniversary was to the day and it was superb."

Although not all 27 members could make the celebration, those present included the secretary and the treasurer of the group.
