A car was stolen from outside a Royston bank on Sunday afternoon as the driver stopped to use the cash machine.
The theft took place at about 4.45pm when a driver parked his black 56-plate Vauxhall Vectra outside HSBC in Melbourn Road.
He left the engine running and, as he turned his back, a man got into the driver’s seat and drove off at speed.
The suspect is described as a white man, aged 25 to 30, between 5ft 11in and 6ft tall, of slim build with a skinny face and wearing a dark hooded top.
Anyone with information is asked to contact investigating officer PC Mark Goddard via the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
