A PARKED car collided with a moving train at Royston railway station on Tuesday morning.
The car rolled from a car park and through a wooden fence at 6.52am, hitting the back of the train as it pulled out of the station.
Waiting commuters and an off-duty rail worker pushed the vehicle back into the car park.
No-one was injured and the carriage of the train destined for London King's Cross was slightly scuffed.
A spokesman for First Capital Connect said: "Clearly, had this happened just before the train arrived at the station it could have been a serious incident."
A wooden fence is due to be replaced with a metal structure.
Meanwhile, temporary repair work has been carried out to make the area safe.
