With 75 music acts, an album release, a music video recording, an astronomy lecture and star-gazing, visitors will be spoilt for choice at the Cambridge Rock Festival.
The event is now in its 14th year and will be hosted in the grounds of Horseheath Lodge in South Cambs from tomorrow.
Flying all the way from San Jose, California, the T Clemente Band will be launching their album, “Man Machine” on Saturday.
Guitarist Teddy Clemente said: “CRF has been very near and dear to us over recent years, so what better way to launch our new album than at the rock festival!”
Festival-goers will be part of the action on Sunday as The Room record a live video for their new single. The group’s bassist Andy Rowe has invited visitors to “come and join the fabulous CRF crowd and be part of our new album at the Ruby stage!”
Son of Man will pay tribute to their forebears, legendary Welsh rock act MAN on their 50th anniversary.
Speakng of his late father Micky Jones’ legacy, Son of Man’s George Jones said: “I’m very proud that it’s been 50 years since the formation of the band and we’re looking forward to marking the anniversary by playing a set of songs from each decade.”
Fans of Space Elevator will be glad to hear they are set to return to the stage at this year’s festival, after illness forced them to pull out of last year’s event at short notice.
2016 festival favourite, Rosalie Cunningham, of psychedelic rock band, Purson, is also returning next week. Her new band will perform previously unheard material, and some favourite Purson tracks.
On Saturday night, guests can also hear a lecture on the Apollo space missions and get their hands on a telescope, to spy some planets, galaxies and nebulae.
Other performers include Focus, Dan Reed Network, King King, Atomic Rooster, Dare, Mostly Autumn , Zal Cleminson, Buster James, Pearl Handled Revolver, Derecho, 4th Labyrinth, Split Whiskers, Barefoot Doctors, tribute acts headed by Limehouse Lizzy and Rod Stewart’s co-writer and guitarist, Jim Cregan.
