FINAL rehearsals are taking place for this year's Corvus Amateur Drama Society's pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

And director Debbie Wilson promises a traditional story with a twist.

As usual with the Royston-based drama group the pantomime will included a number of untraditional characters.

The pantomime is being performed at Greneway School, Royston, on January 18-19 and January 25-26 at 7.30pm and matinee performances on January 19 and January 26 at 2.30pm.

Meanwhile, Cads is looking for nominees for its annual award, the Fred Sillence Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Performing Arts, and the Youth Drama award, for outstanding contribution to youth drama.

The awards are dedicated to the late Fred Sillence, the former editor of The Crow who was a long-standing, active member of Cads.

The awards are open to anyone living in Royston or the surrounding area who has made a significant contribution to theatre or drama.

The youth award is open to nominees up to 18 years of age.

The award covers all aspects of drama during the past 12 months, either through a school, theatre or dance group and involves performing, backstage work, music and scriptwriting.

The awards of a cash prize and a trophy will be presented on the last performance of the pantomime.
