ROYSTON-based drama group Cads has won the best production award in the 39th Cambridge Drama Festival - and it's only the second year it has entered the competition.

The group's production of Tom Stoppard's A Separate Peace was won, too, the audience appreciation award while David Bull and Amy Marks were recognised as best actor and best cameo role respectively.

Director Micheal Young said the group was "delighted" with it's success.

Both A Separate Table and Gillian Plowman's play The Allotment are to be performed at Greneway School, Royston, on May 18-19, and The Allotment is to be entered in the Haverhill Drama Festival in June.

- Tickets costing £5 are available from the box office on 01763 242906 or on the door. The performance will start at 7.30pm.
