AIR CADETS from Bassingbourn raised £150 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance at a quiz evening.

The cadets from 2484 squadron organised the evening, which was attended by friends and family, together with members of the public.

Tom Pigott, 15, and his fellow cadets, presented Alison Horsley of South Cambs/West Suffolk fundraising for the East Anglian Air Ambulance with a cheque.

The Air Ambulance Service runs two helicopters, which cost £2.4million a year to keep in the air.

This figure rises to almost £3million when the purchase of equipment is added.

A spokesman for the 2484 squadron said: "The cadets are also hoping to visit the helicopter at Norwich Airport along with a tour of the airport and air traffic control tower."
