A BUSINESS in Royston has received a prestigious award from a US retail giant in recognition of its quality products and services. Retail solution company Episys, which moved to Newark Close, Royston in 1996, has been named a Sears Partner in Progress. The award is in recognition for making a significant contribution to the growth of Sears businesses and the creation of new ways to better serve customers in its 3,800 stores across the US and Canada. Episys was one of 3,000 companies considered for the award. Commercial director Nigel Rix and marketing manager Lorna Basey said achieving the award "underpins and validates" Episys' work in terms of customer care and satisfaction. "We have a passion for care for our clients and by being totally committed to them, we deliver the best quality service," said Mr Rix. "It's also great to be recognised for our level of support when we don't always work in the same time zone." Marketing director Peter Lewis said: "Winning this award illustrates our commitment to them as a supplier, and our passion for customer service - particularly as we are the only company with headquarters outside the US, considered to meet Sears' exacting standards. "In a year of nearly 40 per cent growth in North America, and with major new customers worldwide, 2005 has been an exceptional year for Episys. "This means that we are looking to recruit additional employees.
