BURGLARS raided a Royston school making off with laptops after breaking into a classroom window to gain entry.
The theft happened between 9.30 am on Saturday and 8am today (Monday) at the St Mary’s RC JMI School on Melbourn Road.
Intruders broke open a gate in order to gain access to the rear of the building and then entered two classrooms by smashing an outside window before stealing a caddy full of laptops and driving off.
PC Simon Klust from Royston Police Station, who is investigating the incident, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious at the school since early Saturday morning to contact us. Perhaps you saw a vehicle on the school grounds over the weekend? If you have any information at all, no matter how small or insignificant you think it may be. I would urge you to get in contact with us immediately.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Klust on 101 quoting Crimes reference number G4/12/473, or alternatively, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
