A NEW fitness programme, dubbed Buggycise, has been launched to target parents of children under-five.
The sessions are being held on Therfield Heath every Wednesday morning from 9.30-10.30am, and are aimed at parents of babies and toddlers who would enjoy spending an hour a week with like-minded people, getting fit alongside their little ones.
it is based outdoors, and mums and dads can get their exercise without the need for a babysitter, while children get some healthy fresh air.
Royston and Villages Children’s Centre has organised the programme in partnership with North Herts District Council.
Children’s Centre Manager Mandy Dockery said: “These classes have been very popular with parents, as they are fun, friendly and for all types of fitness levels. Parents have said they feel fitter, have made new friends, and had a lot of fun.”
Sessions include aerobic and resistance exercise, and activities to enhance core strength and posture, all tailored to each individual’s abilities.
Parents with children under five are welcome and there is no need to book in advance. The first session is free, £2.50 a week thereafter.
