Police were called to the A507 between Buntingford and Cottered at 10am this morning after reports that the drain cover was obstructing the road.

Hertfordshire Highways had to be called to replace the cover, while police officers helped change eight tyres on five different cars. The road was cleared by 1pm.

Officers from the East Herts Rural Police team tweeted: “We have finished with the manhole cover, what a way to spend 3hrs of a sunny Tuesday morning on the A507.”
