Business rivalry was left in the changing room as members of staff from a number of Royston’s Indian restaurants got together for a football match.

Players representing Mughal Kitchen, Jaipur Indian Takeaway, Royal Bengal and Ashiana Spice Indian Restaurant arranged a day out and kick about at Royston Heath, with an outdoor meal cooked by Abdul Gaffar, head chef at Mughal Kitchen afterwards.

Organiser Shajahan Shaju from Ashiana Spice, who arranged the event with Jahed Ahmed, Kamran Hussain and Fozlur Rashid said: “It was great fun. It was a good opportunity for everyone get together and get to know each other.

“Everybody is busy with their own professional and private lives, and I’m happy that everyone could make the time to play football together.”

Oranges and drinks were served up at half time and medals were served at the end.
