The French pupils enjoyed their visit to Bassingbourn Village College.

A group of French teenagers descended on Bassingbourn Village College to get a taste of what goes on in an English school.

The 60 students from Joseph Bédier College near Lyon are based in Watford for a week-long English experience but travelled east to meet up with students at Bassingbourn Village College.

They spent the morning having a guided tour around the school and playing sports, before formal lessons in the afternoon.

For two Bassingbourn pupils, the visit was extra special. Eden and Zephyr Alarcon were re-united with their father, Jean-Michel Alarcon, who is a teacher at the French college.

Rachel Dix-Pincott, head of languages at the school, said: “Both sets of students had a great time and were able to develop their language and communication skills.”
