Bomb disposal experts were called and part of a road was cordoned off by police yesterday in Royston after homeowners found what they believed to be an explosive devise in a garden.
Police were called to Ivy Lane at 3.10pm.
The item was assessed by a bomb expert and found to be a section of steel piping.
