FIRE ripped through a village scout hut last night.
Residents in The Moor, Melbourn, alerted fire crews after they noticed flames billowing from the derelict Melbourn Scout Hut at about 10.45pm last night.
Two fire crews, one from Royston and one from Cambridge, raced to the scene, and took two hours to extinguish the blaze. The building has been almost totally destroyed.
The cause of the fire is thought to have been deliberate. It is the third time the building has been set alight in the last 18 months.
