Blanket knitted by Royston crafters to be raffled off for good cause

The Royston community is being urged to part with their pounds for a good cause after a town craft shop owner and her army of crafters got together for a marathon knitting session.
The fruits of Laura Whitford and friends’ labour has finally been revealed, in the form of a unique blanket woven together from squares created by knitters and crocheters at the Jolly Postie Pub in Melbourn Street.
They got stuck in for Children in Need from 7pm to 2.15am for the fundraiser spearheaded by No.3 Royston’s Laura, with the help of her crafty customers.
Laura said, “We were exhausted but it was worth it! We’re now selling raffle tickets for £1 each, so one lucky person will have a completely unique and one-off blanket for Christmas. Tickets are available from the shop.
“Father Christmas himself will draw the winner at our next craft fair in Royston Town Hall on Saturday, December 9.”
Laura plans on making the ‘blankathon’ – now in its second year – an annual event with a different colour scheme every year.
