A CROW Country pub is organising a charity bike ride that is sure to work up a thirst.

Staff and regulars at The Crown in Litlington are to cycle ten miles around the local area, stopping off at six other pubs on route to collect donations and allow for refreshment.

Landlady Debbie Payne said: “Hopefully there will be over 20 of us on the ride all together and we are looking to raise over 1,000.

“The ten mile route will not be easy, and some of the others and I have been practising for the past few weeks. It’s all for a great cause so that will keep us going.”

The group will begin their route at The Crown, before heading up to The Hoops and The Peartree in Bassingbourn.

The Pig and Abbot in Abington and Edward VII Guilden Morden will follow, before The Three Tuns, also in Guilden Morden.

Steeple Morden’s Waggon and Horses is the penultimate stop, before they ride off back to The Crown.

The ride will take place on November 7, from 1.30pm. Anyone is free to take place, and sponsorship forms can be collected from The Crown.

The pub will also be holding a coffee morning as part of the Wear it Pink day for breast cancer awareness, this Friday (October 29), from 10am.

Mrs Payne said: “anyone is welcome to come along. There will be a raffle, and cakes, which have been kindly made by Chris Bright.”
