YOUTH councillors in Buntingford donated a bench to the High Street last Wednesday.
The council spent £700 on the bench, which they hope will benefit residents.
Tom Swain, a member of the youth council said: "We were told there used to be a bench in the High Street, so we thought it would be a good idea to buy another one because there are not many places for people to sit."
Councillor Abdul Chowdhury said: "I am very grateful that these people understand that people who use the High Street need something like this."
The council's future projects include assisting the Chamber of Commerce with late night shopping and the Sunday market.
