Conservationist Bill Oddie helped a wildlife park celebrate its 30th anniversary this week.
Mr Oddie, presenter of the BBC’s Springwatch, met with staff and visitors at Shepreth Wildlife Park on Wednesday.
The park has been open for 30 years, and its work focuses on conservation, education and research, as well giving people a chance to see rare creatures.
The visit of Mr Oddie also coincided with Love Your Zoo week, which is run by the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA), of which Shepreth is a member.
“Good zoos play an important role in conservation,” said Mr Oddie. “At the same time, let’s also not forget that zoos offer people what could be their first contact with animals.”
