Students and teachers at Bassingbourn Village College have a good reason to celebrate after the school was ranked among the top nine per cent in the country.
The Department for Education charts the improvement in grades achieved by GCSE pupils.
In individual subject areas, the Bassingbourn students made so much progress in English that they are among the top five per cent.
Principal Duncan Cooper said: “The report not only shows an improving picture across the board, but also that we are doing a fantastic job in comparison to all other secondary schools.
“It really does reflect the hard work and commitment of students, staff and governors at the college.”
