British Moth Sailing is named after an 11-foot sailing dinghy which was designed in 1932 by Sydney Cheverton. The first British Moths were sailed on the Brent Reservoir in North London.

His daughter, Jane Wallington, said of his win: "Dad is an extraordinary sailor and known to be so in his field. He is the Ben Ainslie of the British Moth World!

"As a family, we're very proud that he continues to win the National Championships year upon year, with seemingly zero effort whatsoever, but also that he is keen to support other sailors so that they improve too."
