A Bassingbourn man is celebrating after scooping a top prize in a national Wild West-themed Grow and Show event.

Dani Amarah beat off competition from hundreds of people to claim first prize for his fantastic flower arrangement.

The event was organised by Voyage Care, one of the UK’s largest providers of support for people with learning disabilities and acquired brain injuries.

The village fete-style event saw people from across the country travel to Newark Showground in Nottinghamshire, where they enjoyed a day of fun activities.

Voyage Care’s chief executive Andrew Cannon said: “Dani should be extremely proud of what he has achieved and we’re already looking forward to seeing what he can come up with next year.”
