Bassingbourn Village College pupils visited the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre on Friday to hand over the money raised by the college’s Amanda’s Day celebrations last term.
Students Eden Alarcon and Tyra Jones presented the cheque for £2122.13 to the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre’s chairman Edward Sage and manager Kathy Dixon.
Eden and Tyra – and Martha Young who was away on a geography trip – played a large part in organising the fundraising events, including a penalty shoot-out, bake-off contest, tutor stalls, ‘sponge the teacher’ and a visit from Elysium Beauty who waxed the legs of nominated male teachers.
Centre staff wanted to thank the staff, pupils and parents who helped raise so much money for the cause.
