A BARN fire which destroyed the offices of a construction firm has been brought under control.

Ten fire engines were needed to contain the blaze, at Grange Farm, near the Flint Cross junction of the A505.

It began at 8.30am, in converted barns which formed the headquarters of construction company Seearo. These have been completely destroyed.

Nobody was hurt in the fire, but it is thought to have damaged the nearby home of Seearo boss Clive Onslow, as well as two helicopters which were on the site at the time.

Rick Hylton, the fire service's district manager, "The converted barns were completely destroyed by fire. There was also some fire damage to an outbuilding.

"However, thanks to the hard work of crews we have managed to save the house and the two factory units which were in close proximity to the incident.
