A pair of housing developers from Barley and Royston are to donate a portion of the proceeds from their latest project to causes close to their hearts.

Paul Whiffin started out in the business 13 years ago, later joining up with roofer Nathan Page to form Paul & Page Developments.

The pair haved continued to go from strength to strength, and now have more than 25 projects to their name.

Paul told the Crow: “I started out after having a bit of luck with my first property and it went from there. We got lucky enough to buy land and start our own developments.

“Nathan was a young roofer in Royston and he’s had a steep learning curve, but we have been friends for a long time now. We share ideas and have the same high standards.”

Paul and Nathan’s projects include renovating the front of the Cave shop in Royston, with the pair very excited about the open-house sessions for their latest work – two homes in Guilden Morden’s Potton Road.

Paul, who grew up in Heydon before moving to Royston and later Barley, said: “We keep it local and employ tradesmen from the local area. Our photographer is from Bassingbourn.

“We use British materials, and almost everything is from this country – except for the Bosch appliances, for example.”

The 38-year-old has said that they are keen to give something back to charity – and for each house that’s sold, £1,000 is given to Youth At Risk and Cancer Research UK, both causes important to Paul and Nathan, who is 31.

Paul said: “I lost my uncle to cancer, and Nathan knows how important it is to be given chances when you are young. We both realise the importance and need for funding for causes like these, and take great pride in being able to offer a contribution towards the good work of each charity.

“These builds are products of love, vision and quality. We want to create beautiful properties that are sustainable and energy efficient, and we really do put our hearts into it – if we’re over budget trying to make the perfect home then so be it.

“It is important to us to be a part of the local community, so if villagers want to come along and have a look, please do.”

You can have a look around the The Gate House and Little Brook at 1 Potton Road, Guilden Morden, from 11am to 3pm on June 17 and 18.
