PUPILS at Barkway First School have enjoyed a visit from the Food Standards Agency's Cooking Bus

The Cooking Bus spends 42 weeks a year travelling to schools around the country, teaching children about food preparation and hygiene, as well as basic cooking skills.

Year 1 and Year 2 children enjoyed cooking and, of course, eating cheesy vegetable parcels.

Barkway School runs a popular lunchtime cooking club and also has a Food for Life group, made up of parents and teachers.

Vanessa Clark is a parent member of this group.

She said: "The visit of the Cooking Bus will help to build on the success of the lunchtime cooking club.
