A DVD rental shop which has relocated in Royston now offers cheap booze.

Roland Digby has moved Choices DVD store from the corner of Queens Road to Baldock Street.

But the shop, which is called Bargain Booze, now acts as an off-licence as well.

Mr Digby said: "We looked at the market and found that DVDs and alcohol would go hand-in-hand.

"DVDs alone have been a difficult trading area for some time and piracy has made it even harder.

"But we didn't want Royston to loose its DVD outlet so we decided that Choices needed something to stand with it.

"The shop is price and quality orientated and we will have competitive offers all year round.

"We're giving people something that no-one else in the area can offer and at the same time beat Tescos prices," he said.

He added that he has received "positive comments" from customers.

The Mayor of Royston, Cllr Lynn Berry, officially opened the shop on Saturday.
