A YOUNG dancer from Royston is to perform with the English Youth Ballet at the end of the month - after battling it out at an audition last year. Heidi Dilley, 10, will be performing in The Sleeping Beauty at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage on March 30. Heidi's mum Christine said: "She auditioned last November and it was a tight and strict audition. We thought it was too good an opportunity to pass up. "Heidi's into all sorts of dance," she said. "She started when she was about four and she does about 10 hours-a-week at the Bodyworks Company Dance Studio in Cambridge. "She's extremely passionate about it and enjoys it immensely." Heidi, along with 100 other dancers, has been taking part in rigorous rehearsals since the beginning of February. Heidi, who attends Chrishall Primary School, said: "It is hard work, but I love it." Christine added: "She's taken it all in her stride, she's a very happy-go-lucky girl. I can't wait to watch her perform." - The Sleeping Beauty is being performed from March 30 to April 1.
