THE waiting is over . . . The Crow can reveal the winner of the recent Pet Idol competition. Bailey, a-one-year-old rabbit was crowned the winner. The competition, run in conjunction with the Wood Green Animal Shelter in Heydon, attracted pets in all shapes and sizes. Bailey and his owner, Carla Deverson, of Tannery Drift, Royston, went along to the shelter in Heydon to collect their prize of a £20 voucher for pet accessories. Carla said: "I was quite shocked to find out we had won. "He is a house rabbit and sits with me all the time watching television. "It was wonderful to win." Nicola Bacon, press officer for Wood Green Animal Shelters, said: "It was great that Bailey won the Pet Idol competition. He is a gorgeous rabbit and we are certainly not surprised he received the most votes.
