THE second Royston Arts Festival begins today (Thursday) - and there is something for everyone.

Organiser Kathy Wholley said: "I hope people turn out to see the talent we have in Royston.

"You only have to look at the programme to see that there is a lot to celebrate," she said.

This year organisers have increased the number of events for children and dance is represented more widely than previously.

Mrs Wholley said tickets for events are selling well and the Grand Festival Concert - which will include a performance from trumpet virtuoso Alison Balsom - looks like selling out.

One new venture this year is the launch of a book, Royston Through the Eyes of a Child. The book is part of a literature project which has seen contributions from pupils at schools in Royston and the surrounding area.
