THOUSANDS of books will be on sale at the eighth annual Ashwell book weekend.

The popular event, which takes place this weekend at St. Mary's Church, is raising money for the Ashwell Church Restoration appeal.

Organiser Carolyn Lush said: "We've got thousands of books this time. It's going to take us all week to sort them out. There are so many that we have had to move out of the church hall and into the church itself."

Ashwell Church Restoration Appeal funds ongoing repair work needed at St. Mary's.

The book weekend is open from 10am-5pm on Saturday, and noon-5pm on Sunday. Entrance is £1.
