SOUTH Cambridgeshire MP Andrew Lansley is the new government Health Secretary.
Mr Lansley, who has shadowed the post for the last five years while the Conservatives were in opposition, was named in the post last night as new Prime Minister David Cameron began to reveal his cabinet.
The move comes five days after Mr Lansley, who hit the headlines last year when he became embroiled in the parliamentary expenses scandal, was re-elected by the people of South Cambridgeshire, albeit with a slightly decreased majority.
It is thought there will be no place in the new cabinet for Royston MP Oliver Heald.
