AMBA the tiger will be having a special birthday party at Shepreth Wildlife Park on Monday.

An array of activites will mark Amba's 10th birthday - and it is hoped the event will raise awareness of the plight of tigers across the world.

A spokesman for Shepreth Wildlife Park said: "One hundred years ago there were 100,000 tigers comprising eight sub-species, but today this figure stands at little more than 3,000.

"We want to raise much needed funds to help protect the last few remaining wild tigers."

Events throughout the day will include puppet shows, performing arts workshops, and tiger hair-braiding. There will also be a special appearance by celebrity weather forecaster Weather-ton Fox.
