A CHARITY golf day raised more than £3,000. The Wooden Spoon Society, a charity which raises money for disadvantaged children, held its Herts Regional Golf Day at Royston Golf Club. The teams, each of four members, included one from Archant Herts & Cambs, of which The Crow is part. A team led by Bob Turner won the competition and will represent Herts in the society's national competition at the St Pierre Golf Club at Chepstow in September. Since the branch was set up, it has raised more than £200,000 for disadvantaged children around the county, including donations to Meldreth Manor School.
