AN AIR ambulance made a special landing on a golf club fairway this week to collect a cheque for 9,000.
The Herts Air Ambulance landed at Barkway Park Golf club on Sunday after members raised the cash to support its work. The money was collected at a charity golf day held earlier this year and sponsored by Barker Associates of Bishop’s Stortford and Boen UK.
Dawn Easby, Herts Air Ambulance senior fundraising coordinator, said: “9,000 is such an astounding sum of money to be raised from a single Charity Golf Day. Barkway are a relatively small club but I am constantly impressed with how their members, supporters, club captains and staff pull together to keep increasing the proceeds for Herts Air Ambulance year after year.
“It’s a privilege to work with the club and heartening to know that a small group of people can make such a significant contribution to keep the county’s essential Helicopter Emergency Medical Service flying and saving lives.”
