A MAN found unconscious in Royston was rushed to hospital after an air ambulance landed in the town.

Paramedics found him on Saturday afternoon after being called to a Church Lane property at 12.26pm.

Crews from Haverhill, Letchworth and Melbourn attended the scene but due to the nature of the call, the East Anglian Air Ambulance was also called.

Ambulance service spokesman, Gary Sanderson, said: “A man who we believe to be in his 30s was found in a serious condition.

“Paramedics and the critical care team from the air ambulance worked closely together to treat and stabilise the patient before he was conveyed to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage by land ambulance.”
